| About Flintstones: The Flintstones follows the adventures of two average families, the Flintstones and the Rubbles, who happen to be living in the Stone Age. The Modern Stone Age - surrounded by all the conveniences of a Modern Stone Age world. Wooly mammoth vacuum cleaners and pigasaurus garbage disposals make household chores a breeze, while brontosaurus cranes and stegosaurus bulldozers allow even a quarry man to take his job for granite! | |
![]() Fred Flintstone |
The show mainly revolves
around a man named Fred
Flintstone, his wife Wilma,
and Little daughter Pebbles. Fred works at "The Bedrock Gravel Company", where
he crushes stones day after day. Wilma, his wife, is a housewife, and basically keeps their life in order. She does everything from washing clothes, to cooking Fred's dinner (and that's no small task) Next door to the Flintstones live the Rubbles. The Rubbles consist of Fred's best friend Barney (occasionally), Wilma's best friend Betty, and Bam-Bam, their little son. Bam-Bam was once left on the Rubble's doorstep one day, and from that day on he was their son. (In the live-action movie, he was adopted by them through an agency). Later on Bam-Bam and Pebbles grow up to marry each other. |
![]() Wilma Flintstone |
Wilma Flintstone is definately the woman who keeps the
Flintstones from falling apart. Without her, Fred would be a lost soul. Not only does this super-woman take care of Fred, she raises a young child, does chores around the house, does errands outside of the house, AND still has a social life!!! What does she do on her own time? Well, she goes next door to visit her best friend, Betty. She shops until Fred's whole month's pay is gone, plays bridge with other housewives, and what else??? GOSSIP! Not much of a social life? At least she can still maintain one. She is one of a kind. Later on in life, when her daughter is all grown, and moved out, Betty and her open a catering business! Wilma is the reason Fred can exist like a simple man. |
![]() Barney Rubble |
Barney Rubble is probably the best friend Fred could ever have.
Even though they don't always agree on everything, Barney always stays faithful to Fred.
Barney lives with his wife and child next door to the Flintstones, so either Fred is at
the Rubble's or Barney is at the Flintstone's. Barney and Fred do almost everything
together. Barney and Fred enjoy doing many things together. Some of their hobbies are bowling, playing poker, watching television, and going to water buffalo meetings. Barney does have a life without Fred though. Barney likes spending time with his family. He is sometimes seen playing with his son Bam-Bam. Barney likes playing with Bam-Bam, even though Bam-Bam could crush him like an ant. |
![]() Betty Rubble |
Betty Rubble is Barney's wife, and the loving adoptive mother of
Bam-Bam. She is very much like Wilma. She keeps the Rubble household intact. She is the
one who does all of the cooking, laundry, dishwashing, and other chores in the household.
Betty, like Wilma, manages to sustain a social life. Most of Betty's social life is like Wilma. She and Wilma go shopping, gossiping, and playing bridge. She also enjoys going to the Flintstones during the day to talk with Wilma. |
![]() Dino |
Dino is the lovable pet of the Flintstones. His
trademark is jumping onto Fred as soon as he comes home from work. He loves all of the
Flintstones, and is definiately a part of their family. He is just a dinosaur, but he has
a hobby too (mostly playing with Pebbles). This pet also loves to sleep and eat (just like
modern day pets). He also enjoy burying bones. Even though it is true that dog is man's best friend, that wasn't the case during the stone-age. Most families had a dinosaur, like dino, instead of a dog. They were all welcome into their families. |
